'The End Times' 40k Tournament

A new tournament, 'The End Times', has just been announced on the First Company Veterans events forum. It will be held on the weekend of August 20th- 21st at Warhammer World, costs £42 (including lunch each day) and comprises eight games at various points levels, those being 1000pts, 1500pts and 2000pts. Unlike other mixed-points tournaments, lists can be varied between those levels, thus allowing properly focussed armies to be used. More info can be found on the Rankings HQ website:

Has anyone heard of this tournament before, or even attended? I'm tempted...

  1. You won't find anyone who has attended The End Times, because its the first time this tournament has being ran.

That said I know the guy who is running it, and Franco is a top notch and highly organised chap who is putting a whole mountain of effort into getting this event of the ground. So for that reason I think this will be a big success and become a regular feature on the tourney calendar.

Also the tournament format is pretty damn good, though I would say that about any multi-point-list event considering I run BotC ;-) Jokes aside it is a nice and unique (for the UK) rules pack so should prove to be a refreshing change from the norm.

In fact if it wasn't for the fact I am in Switzerland that same weekend for the ETC I would already have bought a ticket.

  2. Matt and I are already signed up. I'm really looking forward to it actually. The points level variation will make for some interesting games. Not only that but it the way it's organised could make it really fun.

Already had a couple of practice games with my 2K list. Be nice to see some familiar faces there if you decide to go.

  4. Hi Neil, is that 'Tau' Franco who is organising it? If it is, you're right - top guy. Played him with my shockingly bad Eldar at the 'Singles' Team Championship at Mansfield a couple of months ago.

Not sure yet whether I'll definitely be going - it's a toss-up(*) between the tournament and going to watch Ginger off of the Wildhearts do a gig. Choices, choices!

(* - for our American readers, a 'toss-up' is an English phrase meaning to toss (or flip) a coin to make a tough decision, and not what you may have thought. Ahem.).
