I love the look of the new Dark Eldar minitures and I've been thinking about getting some instead of Island of Blood. What has really made my mind up is
this post where it describes one of the special characers as being like David Bowie. Hopefully he'll be wearing
this jumpsuit.
I think DE is a bandwagon I am not planning to jumping into. Models are great, I can't deny that. But I never liked any of the elf kin so I don't see that changing any time soon.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've understood from the rumous they don't seem to be that powerful either with the new codex. They will probably pretty decent but I don't think they'll make it to the top along with IG and SW. Their transports still kinda suck and their troops still fail to impress me. I will have to examine the codex in detail to be sure though.
I like them because they're so different to Marines. I wanted to start Tyranids but two of the best units (Tervigon & Tyranofex) aren't available yet and my conversion skills aren't that good.
ReplyDeleteDE sound pretty killy to me but T3 and AV10 makes them fragile. They do seem to tick all the boxes though - mobility, anti-mech, anti-infantry and good in combat. I look forward to seeing the book and making some lists though, just to see what can be done.
Well it's the opposite for me, I never played marines and want to start now :P
ReplyDeleteI am not too scared by DE since my tanks are AV12 so I don't care much about dark lances and most stuff wound my infantry on a 3+ so 4+ with their poisoned weapons would be a welcomed change.
I guess they will fair better against marines though. Enough poisoned shots could bring anyone down and Land Raiders are going to be in trouble.
